Bride Book Review
Bride by Ali Hazelwood is a paranormal romance centered around Vampyre Misery Lark and Werewolf Lowe Moreland. Misery has spent her whole life as a political pawn to keep peace between the Vampyres and Humans. She has to marry Lowe to start a truce between their two communities.
My Thoughts
Ali Hazelwood writes quirky characters that are so lovable. Misery was fun to follow along. She’s someone who carries a lot of responsibility for her community and receives hate for it. She does things for the betterment of others who don’t care for her. I connected with that part and showed that she is a genuine character that will protect because she believes it’s what right not because it’s to her benefit. Lowe shared the same characteristics as Misery which is what I feel helped to make them click.
This was my first paranormal romance and it was fun to follow along it was a world I grew attached to fast and didn’t want to leave. I wish there could be more books in this universe because I just loved the different dynamics. It had good pacing to follow along which made it easy for me to read in a weekend.
Hazelwood does tend to have a good amount of steamy scenes that build up tension I feel the amount of spice in this book went great with the flow of the story. I’ve always appreciated the spicy scenes in her books and I think this one had a good amount to still be engaged.
Overall this book was a 4.25 out of 5 stars because of the pacing, the paranormal world, and the characters. It was easy to follow, dive into, and connect with.
