Keeping 13 by Chloe Walsh

After reading Binding 13 I couldn't wait to start this book. This is the continuation of Johnny and Shannon’s story from Binding 13. This was one I couldn’t put down. I read this in about 2 days

Keeping 13 by Chloe Walsh #2 in the Boys of Tommen Series

Keeping 13 is the second book in the Boys of Tommen series. This book continues Johnny and Shannons story from where Binding 13 leaves off. Still set in Ireland Johnny and Shannon are now trying to figure out their lives after the events of everything from the end of the pervious book and continuing to live their lives with these new struggles.

Content Warnings: Sexual content, violence, mature themes, bad language and suitable for readers over 16+

My Thoughts

This book has the same mature themes we saw from the pervious ones but also kept it real and similar to the age range of these characters. It gave so many more scenes with the side characters that allowed to story to really flourish and start to introduce the other characters in the series. This book made me feel like I was back in high school and the friend group. The way Johnny and Shannon are written to express their feelings was done in such a way that felt very real to me. I often struggle with finding a book that can put me back into the mindset of high school and being young and this one did just that. I related to much to Johnny and Shannons feelings because of the way they are described.

I also loved the side characters. I finished this book with just wanting more of the other characters. This book did so well to solidify my want to learn more about other characters in this universe. It’s one thing to have a good book but to build characters you want to know more of or about can be hard when the story you have is already so dramatic. With all the lows the reader goes through there’s a lot of highs that help to not feel like such a sad book. There were many points I wanted to cry but that feeling easily went away with the change of scene and bringing in other characters and developing the story.

This book of the two had me so giddy and sad at the same time. I couldn’t get these characters out of my head and I enjoyed them so much. I ended up giving this book a 5 star for the content and the overall vibes. I finished this book so quick and it definitely helped get me out of my slump.
