2024 Reading Goals
Hi, y’all!
I know we all start the new year with goals we want to accomplish by the new year. I want to share some of my reading goals for the year. I had a goal of reading 50 books in the year and finished the year off with 37 books.
I really want to keep to my goals in the new year. I fell into a couple of reading slumps but I want to try different tricks to get out of my slumps which I feel will help.
My goal is to read 75 books in the year. I did an inventory of my physical TBR and came to the realization that I have 70 books I own that I haven’t read. Some of them I’ve had for over a year. So I wanted to make my goal about as much as what I had because if I read about as much as I have off my physical TBR I won’t feel guilty about buying the new releases I want to read. Partially because my physical TBR is so high I want to cut down on how many books I’m buying. I’ve decided to try to stick to only buying the new releases I’m highly anticipating this year until I hit my other goal of reading 21 books of my physical TBR. Once I have taken 21 books off my physical TBR I don’t think I would feel so guilty buying new books. I want to also explore more genres I want to read 2 mystery thriller books and 3 fantasy books. I set a small number for these goals because it will be something I can accomplish with my physical TBR. Lastly I want to read 50 pages a day. I’ve noticed that the first 50 pages of a book can sometimes be hard so reading 50 pages a day will help me hit my overall reading goal but also help me get through the beginning of a new book.
I’m excited to see what goals y’all have set for the new year!
